Beginning January, 2023, the La Cañada Congregational Church family deliberately engaged with resources and perspectives to form a Statement of Welcome to become an Open and Affirming Congregation. At the June 11 worship service, the congregation voted unanimously to adopt the following statement:

La Cañada Congregational Church seeks to be an expression of God's love in the world.

We intend to be an inclusive and diverse church: a people of unconditional love that welcomes, cherishes, and affirms all individuals in our church and community regardless of race, culture, age, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, ability, or socio-economic status.

Partnering with the Holy Spirit and our community, we are committed to resist societal ills that oppress God's children and prevent them from experiencing a fulfilled life.

Following the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the good will of all people, we declare ourselves to be an Open and Affirming Church within the Open and Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ.
